A Night at the Races...

I know it's not Friday, but I confess...I forgot about confessions on Friday.

The girls and I hung out at the Knox house for quite some time yesterday. Afterwards we went to the Hartford Motor Speedway for the races. It was hot, loud, dirty, the concrete seats were painful, but the races were amazing. It's just a small dirt speedway in a little podunk town in Michigan, but looking at the girls faces you would have thought we were at Daytona. The sunset was hazy and beautiful. The races were quick, but never ending. Overall we had a blast. Great friends, lots of laughs, and an amazing evening with my family. What more could I ask for?

My camera isn't one of those fancy shmancy ones so all the photos of the cars were pretty much like this one. I won't bore you with the whole lot of them.

The sun was a deep neon red, and the air was hazy, making a beautiful setting sun.

  2. Thanks Becca,

It was a blast. I had more dust in my hair and teeth than the dashboard of my car has. It was worth it though.

  3. Man I cant tell you the last time I went to the races. I remember my dad use to take us to the Kzoo Speedway when we were kids. JP and I talk about finding a race track around here sometimes but we have never done anything about it!

  4. Hi Rose,

This was the first time I had ever been. I was amazed at the power you feel just watching and the anderenaline you get when the car you picked beats the car your friend picked.

I love the pic of Jason and Lily. She is definitely growing to become a sheer beauty. Better watch out on her!! ;)

  6. Thanks Jon, it was all of those things and more.

I've already bought Jason the gun, and my Uncle made me a bench for my porch that he can sit on!!
