Friends

I have to admit I have some pretty awesome friends. Old and new a like. One of them I've know since my first day of Kindergarten. Some for 15-20 years. Some of them only a few months. Some I've never even met face to face. No matter how, or for how long, I've known them, I cherish each and every one of them for the loving, caring, and most times funny, souls they are.  They have been there for me through thick and thin. They have helped to pull me back from the edge when it seemed all was lost. I always have a grand time when I'm with them. And sometimes they just KNOW with only a look or a few words. I only hope that I am as good a friend to all of them as they have been to me.

What prompted this post was a text I received yesterday from one of the very best people I know. It simply stated, "For you :)" and attached was this photo.

This is taken from the front steps of a local church over looking Lake Michigan. Look close and you'll see the beautiful Rainbow. To me that's the best kind of friend. One who will take a moment out of their busy day to send you a beautiful photo they took, along with a smile, just because. Thank you! I love you!

Then again today I got a couple of more texts with photos from another friend. Only this time they were from 30,000 feet in the air. The first one said this: "I know how u like your sunrises! Here it is at 30,000 feet. Somewhere in the middle of CA."

So beautiful. Thank you! I love you too!

The next photo is at sunset Monday night. Looking East just after the storm clouds passed over. Just look how fast the leaves are changing.

This is the same sunset looking West just a few moments later as more clouds were rolling in.

This one's not as colorful. Even so, it's just as beautiful. This is Tuesday night.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful photos as much as I did.

Wishing you a wonderful day with lots of laughter & smiles.

Huggs,
CoreyJo

Haiku Monday ~ Hunter/Hunted...

Hello all. I know it's late but thank you for joining me for Haiku Monday. This weeks contest is being hosted by Uncle over at Aunty Belles blog. Only rules this week are the 5-7-5 rhythm and the theme is Hunter/Hunted.  Even though each haiku can stand alone, together they tell a story. Enjoy ~CoreyJo

The Hunter

Searching for his prey,
he prowls deserted alleys.
Ah! Footsteps at last..

The Hunted

Echoed breaths taunt.
Fear grips her, paralyzing.
He lunges, she flees.

The Chase

Devious laughs ring loud,
chasing her throughout the night.
Evil closes in.

The Kill

Vigorous struggles.
Absolute domination.
Deaths kiss: Sweet release.

secrets from the week.

I confess... This week has been an emotional week from Hell.

I confess...  I'm going to be eating out for all three meals today. ( I know I'm so Spoiled)

I confess... I really love my new Red hair. (see profile photo on bottom right)

I confess... Watching my girls grow up makes me not only feel proud, but also OLD!!

I confess... If I could go back and do it all again I would, but I wouldn't change a thing.

I didn't have time to make my post this morning so I made it up late last night and thus not getting a photo of the sunrise today. Instead I've got a shot of the clouds last night. I wanted to get to the beach, but with the Sailor not home and the girls bed time being 7:30 I wasn't able to swing it.  I was a little bummed because you could tell the sunset was going to pretty on Lake Michigan. Usually It's pretty all the way out at my house too. (15 miles inland) I went out on the back deck with the camera hoping to get a great shot and to my disappointment there was only a smidgen of color at the top of the tree line. Disappointed I turned to go back inside and what did I see? I couldn't make it to the beach so the clouds brought the beach to me. There isn't much in the way of sunset colors to the clouds, but, to me, they look just like the surf on a windy day. Beautiful in my opinion. What do you think?

Flashback #3 →Lily: The the first two years...

First, before the flashback here's the sky today.

Yesterday was Lily's school picture day. As I stood there brushing her hair and making it all shiny and perfect for pictures I started to think back to when she was just a wee little thing.

Lily was born at Lemoore Navel Air Station Hospital in Lemoore California in 2001. A couple of days after we brought her home we visited our friends Rob & Linda. They took these first two photos that day. ↓

Daddy feeding her  ↑, and Mommy napping with her.  ↓

A few photos we sent to Daddy while he was on cruise.  ↓

Lily's first Christmas photo 2001  ↓

Lily loved her corn on the cob. Look at those eyes. Now they're silvery grey. ↓

A few photos from after we moved home to Michigan in 2002. Lily's now 1 year old.  ↓

Our first family photo just after Lily turned 2 in 2003 ↓

Lily was and still is a Diva.  ↑

Thanks for traveling down memory lane with me. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Today I am sad.

 My heart aches for you.

My eyes shed tears for you.

My Soul prays for you.

You are a ray of sunlight

that shines brightly upon my days.

I will not give up hope.

I will smile at the beauty of

the day for you.

I send my love to you

in hopes that you feel it

and grow stronger.

Today, for you, I will try

not to be sad.

From the first time I read this poem I loved it. It touches my heart more each time I read it. I’m sure some of you will love it just as much as I do. I’d also like to give a special thanks to my friend for letting me use this poem on my blog. It’s a beautiful poem written from the heart. Thank you.  ~ CJ

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it!!

I know, I know, I've already done an
over sized post today.
Trust me this one thing couldn't wait.

I've been waiting for the day when
my friend would start a blog for his writing.
That day is here folks!

It's newly opened and still being tweaked
a little bit.
Despite the fact it's worth visiting.

I would tell you a bit about the writer but I'm
told that I don't leave enough "Mystery"
to the man. So you'll just have to pop
on over and see everything
for yourself.

If the couple of writings he has up aren't
your style don't count him out
yet. Be sure to check back
periodically to see what's new.
He's a versatile writer who covers many
styles of writing, and many subjects. I'm
sure you're bound to find something
that suits you.

Please spread the word
of his new site whether it's your cup
of tea or not. Some one you know may thank
you for sending them the link.

With out further ado I present to you

by Rafa

You can reach Rafa's blog either through
the link above or his link on my
sidebar under, 'Blogs I Follow'.

Please take a moment to check out his site
and let him know what you think.

secrets from the week.

I confess...  I was scared to go to the dentist this week. I'm ashamed to admit it, but it had been 4 years since my last visit.  **NO CAVITIES** and very little plaque.  Whoot! Whoot!

I confess...  I had to bite my tongue when the dentist told me, "You have a pretty mouth". I so wanted to say something to the effect of , "Yeah, it works wonders too!", or something worse! But I controlled myself and just said Thank You. Man was that hard!!

I confess...  Even though I love the Fall time, my bones & joints hate it. Also I've been freezing for days!!

I confess...  I hate cleaning the house, so I bought these really cute rubber gloves for dishes & cleaning ( i was jealous of my friend ML.S. because she has some with zebra stripes) in hopes that if I was more stylish that maybe I'd have more enthusiasm for cleaning. I wonder if the gloves will distract from my bed head?

I confess... I know that I probably bore everyone with my posts of the sunrise almost everyday. I don't care because they are so beautiful, and make me think of Angel Eyes shining bright.

There, that's enough of my secrets for you guys. Up next is the last few days of sunrises & little bits of beauty from around my house.

Enjoy
CoreyJo

The sunrises around this area are really beautiful this time of year.

↑ These ↓ are from Tuesday morning. I couldn't decide which one with the flag was better so I used both.

The first one ↓ is Wednesday morning right after the bus pulled away, and the second one is as I was leaving for the dentists office. I don't know why, but I like the second one better.

Yesterday I had to go back to the dentist for a cleaning. I didn't get a photo of the sunrise, but the day was so nice I decided to take a stroll around the yard to see what pieces of beauty I could find. Remember If you click on any photos, especially the next ten, you can see it at full size and the clarity is much better. Someday I'll fix the blog so I can post larger photos.

↑ I'm not sure what this is, but it was pretty cool.

↑ This little guy wasn't so little, and I almost touched him! God forbid, I'd have peed myself.

↑ Here's one of the MANY honey bees we have at our house. We haven't found the hive for fresh honey yet, but it's there somewhere!

↑ Here's the reason we have SOOO many  bee's. We really don't have grass. We have different plots of weeds. Dandelions here, the little orange flowers there, and Clover EVERYWHERE!! It's so damn pretty though.

↑ This copse of trees were only 3-4 foot saplings when we moved in 6 years ago. Now they're 15-20 feet high. I had no idea because I never venture to the outer regions of my back yard, and the giant pine tree blocks the view of these from the house.

↑ These are the wild grapes growing on the fence between our yard and the neighbors. Uh-Oh don't tell Mel, she's liable to harvest them and make some wine!!

↑ Remember the tiny rose bud with all the dew drops on it from the other day. Here it is fully open. The other one is just petals in the wind at this point. I think these will be the last of the roses for the season. Gosh! What will I take photos of during the winter?!?!

↓ This was what the sky looked like at our house yesterday. All of the clouds were very low to the ground and very flat on the bottom. It made me think of Super Mario Brothers. I wanted to jump up and hit the cloud only to hear the "CHING" of the coin. ↓

I know it was a long post today. I'll try in the future to post more often so I don't end up with such a mondo sized post again. I hope you enjoyed the view of my week. Thank you for stopping by. Until next time.

CoreyJo

The Weekend...

This past weekend was a really good weekend.

Even though we had to wake up to an alarm on Saturday, it was still a good morning. The girls woke first, fed themselves, and watched T.V. quietly, allowing Jason and I to sleep until the alarm went off at 8 a.m.  Once we hit the snooze a few times, I finally got out of bed. Jason fell back asleep for another hour or two. After he was up and running, he and the girls left on a reconnaissance mission to the auto paint store and I started to get ready for my day with the Ladies.

For the first time in a LONG time, I was actually ready and waiting, instead of having everyone else ready and waiting on me!!  These are the flowers I received from Mel. Aren't they beautiful?!?

Once everyone arrived we had a small cocktail to toast the day with. It was delicious!

↑ It was DELICIOUS!! (we couldn't find starfruit this time of year in Michigan, so we cut apples & pears into stars)

Then it was off for a day of Lacy Bits shopping, Lunch and tons of laughter. It was one of the best time I'd ever had shopping for frilly things. I don't usually buy the frilly stuff, because....well if you know me you know I'm more in the need of Hardware than I am Frilly.  LOL Still it was long over due, and I'm happy I went. Thank you to all the Ladies for a fabulous day of fun & laughter. I can't wait for next time!!

After a day with the Ladies for me, and a Daddy & Daughter day for Jason, we were north bound with the girls to visit my sister and the Best Nieces in the Entire World (you better tell the twins I wrote this, Valisatie).  We had a blast playing games, laughing and fighting over the bowl of home made cookies (thanks sis) that melt in your mouth. We love you guys! Tell Bob we said HELLO!!

On Sunday we were finally able to wake up on our own with NO alarm clock. And the girls didn't wake us up. In the afternoon we went to a birthday party for our friends son. He turned 3. Hay rides, cake & ice cream, a pinata in the shape of a tractor, friends & laughter filled the day. Due to the fact that all of the photos had other people's children in them I will respect their privacy and not post them. However, I did take a nice photo of the sun.

After the party we had dinner with the Soristos & the Fishers. More laughs with great friends. Thanks Guys!!

OH YEAH!! Side note to Valisatie →→ I got to drive a Corvette on Sunday..♫♪♫Nanna-Nanna-Nanna-Nanna♫♪♫

-----------------------------

Today actually started out well considering the girls were up late again.

This is the sky while the girls were waiting for the bus.

Then the sun came out....

I was taking photos of my kitchen window for a project of a friend, anyways, I went out on the back deck and noticed that I yet again had more roses!!! Yay!!

*Remember to click on the photos to see the true details.

All in all it was a fantastic weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend, and today started out beautiful.  Thank you to all our friends for making the weekend great!

secrets from the week.

I confess...  The girls going back to school this year has been harder on me than any other year.

I confess...  I can't wait for my shopping trip on Saturday with my friends.

I confess... I'm glad summer is over. I prefer the fall season.

I confess... Even though I really miss my pen pal, I'm happy for the much deserved happiness that keeps them from writing as often as they used to.  Love you and your silly gay ass.

I confess... That I'm surprised at how many people actually read this blog. And without a naked person in site too!!

Thanks everyone for being such great friends & followers. New hair color, a shopping trip, and kids fall birthday party on the schedule for this weekend. Hopefully I'll have good photos & great stories for next week.

Love & Huggs
CoreyJo

p.s.  Here's a photo of the roses Jason bought me while I was MIA.

Aren't they Beautiful  :)
