I don't get it. I have never been a fan of poetry and haiku's make even less sense.... sigh.
ReplyDeleteIn the weekly contest I try to enter there is always a theme picked by the current judge. You have to try to create a sense of that theme using a 5-7-5 syllable format. The best ones have you thinking one thing then Bam! another. Often they are vague and left to the reader to interpret, kind of like a painting.

Aw, Curious, come play wif' us--Haiku is the economical expression of a specific moment in time that evokes recognition in the reader--an "aha!" response.
