I loved your Haiku. I'm the person who can burn a pan of boiling eggs. For reals. Luckily, my Mister is good at it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing this week and I like your blog! :-)
Hi Boxer!!
DeleteThanks, I'm glad you like the blog. Great job hosting this week & thank you for stepping up.
I was the youngest in a house full so I was left at home with Grandma Alice a lot. She taught my mother (her daughter in-law) to cook and she taught me. No one in the family has a chance when Mom & I get together!!

p.s. I posted late here but just in time on Boxers!!
Deletep.s.s. Second!! Can I do that on my own blog???
Reminds me of the Palais every time I attempt to cook toast. Never fails to set off the fire alarms! I've taken to making toast with the doors and windows open!
ReplyDeleteHi Princess!!
DeleteIn all my life I've only ever set off a smoke alarm once, and that was from a pie overflowing in the oven. Watch now my alarms will go off...

ReplyDeleteThanks Becca.
DeleteWould have been better had I had some visuals. Lucky for me Rafa has come to my rescue! It's too late for judgement but who cares!

ReplyDeleteI still remember my first attempt at cooking...not good. I didn't burn down the house, but my tummy would have preferred my ass getting tanned for a fire mishap than itself having to stomach what I had just prepared. (no one told me I had to boil the lasagna noodles BEFORE layering them for baking!).
With my capacity to burn fuel, I learned pretty quick; it's cook or go broke!

Rafa!!
DeleteOh your poor stomach! Too bad they didn't have the no-boil noodles back then like they have now! FYI: I'm being told by the sister in-law that if you add enough sauce and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours then you can use the regular noodles with out boiling....so she says.
Thanks for the visual! I'll be posting it promptly!

P.S. Glad you liked the pic...least I'm good for something (other naughtiness, of course).

DeleteWhatever works!! I like the no-boil noodles.

p.s. we're starting to sound like a sad housewife with the woe is me stuff. Better watch out or you'll find yourself on coffee dates with other moms!! LOL
