Even though it's been months since I wrote a poem for the Haiku Monday contest, the words came to me in the 5-7-5 format. The next logical step was to hunt down the current host for the contest. Who happens to be Funky Frugal Mommy. As I read the the theme for this week I was surprised to find it Relaxation. How fitting considering that for me the peacefulness of a quiet winter morning/evening/day/night (winter in general ) is more relaxing than a hot bath with candles and wine. Since all the cards seemed to just fall into place this quiet Monday morning I decided to submit my poem.
Winter's miracle.
Delicate masterpieces
Gently cascading......

Wishing everyone a peaceful and relaxing Monday.

Good morning CoreyJo,
ReplyDeleteHow relaxing, nice job.
Best of the season to you and the family.
Thank you Karl.
DeleteMay the new year bring you happy times & good health.
:-)

Sometimes the words just come to us and we need to remember to write them down it is so relaxing when we are the only ones awake.
ReplyDeletePeaceful quiet times are hard to come by when you have children & pets, so I try to cherish them when they occur. The words are far and few between these days so I rush to record them!
DeleteHappy New Year Jo-Anne!
Wishes for health & happiness to you friend.
:-)

Beautiful, CoreyJo - Though I prefer Summer's sand... :-)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I too enjoy the sands of summer. There's just something about the stark white with the absolute silence of snowfall that summer just can't emulate. No worries though, I usually enjoy such wonders from the warmth of my cozy little house. ;)
DeleteHappy New Year Paul!
Health, Wealth & Happiness for you and yours
:-)

ReplyDeleteThat pic is as good as a burning log thing. Superior haiku, as well. Happy New year. I hope you find it to be a good one, on balance.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Corey Jo. Loved your haiku! I love watching the snow fall.
ReplyDeletegood evening gorgeous congrats on your win I am so out of it i didn't even know you were still writing love the new look must stalk you more often
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Becca. I really haven't written anything for a long time. :D
DeleteThank you all. You are the best commenters and followers!
ReplyDeleteSo, CJ, did you notice you are host for the upcoming Haiku Monday. Congratulations. That was a great entry, despite your hiatus theoretically making you rusty.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have, and I've posted (a bit tardy) a theme. :D
DeleteIn our world always focused on performance and production, where time is money and none should be wasted "doing nothing", it is a blessing that you are able to take a break and simply surrender to the peace and quietness in those brief moments of relief. I learned that those who have tamed solitude and loneliness are more healthy. And Mother Nature gives us so much to enjoy...
ReplyDeleteI also love the sheer silence of those winter days, the time when I turn off everything and simply enjoy being all by myself, right here and right now.
May this deep serenity follows you throughout the upcoming year even in the most stressful moments. May your sailor and your monkeys be blessed by your caring spirit.
Avec toute mon amitié et affection,
Bisou

I agree wholeheartedly, Jon. So many people can't see the forest because the trees are in the way. Mother nature heals & soothes, if only people would take the time to listen to what she has to say.
DeleteI sure hope the serenity of that morning lasts and comforts me in my times of need. I try to listen to her (mother nature) each and every day.
Wishing you a wonderful peace filled 2014
Avec affection et d'amour
Votre ami,
CJ
Gros bisous!!
p.s.: I did find a nice bright red envelope in my mail box last week... :)
